Healing Haven of HSHA Support Group

Whether an animal dies, is lost or stolen, or must be placed in a new home, sorrow is a normal and natural reaction to the loss of a beloved friend. Unfortunately, our culture does not provide us with the tools to help mourn the loss of a pet as it does the loss of a human. Even your closest friends and family members may not understand the depth of your sadness. The first step to reaching resolution in the loss of your pet is to acknowledge your feelings. Through the Healing Haven of HSHA Support Group, you can share your feelings with others who are going through a similar expereince. This is an informal support group for adults (16 years of age or older) and is provided to the public at no cost. The support group meets the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Humane Society of Harrisburg’s shelter. Please bring a photo of your pet.
